Dongguan holds Global Advanced Manufacturing Investment Promotion Conference
The Dongguan Global Advanced Manufacturing Investment Promotion Conference was held on the afternoon of September 8th. 39 projects worth 189.576 billion yuan were signed on site. In total, 216 major projects have been agreed in Dongguan recently, involving a total investment of 325.507.9 billion yuan.
This event was conducted via video conference between the main venue in Dongguan and the three branch venues in Germany, Japan and Israel. Liu Wei (president of the Renmin University of China), Dongguan government officials, as well as famous business leaders from Ericsson, Tsinghua Unigroup, Siemens, and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation attended the event.
As an important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (hereinafter "the GBA"), Dongguan has become a hot spot for domestic and foreign companies to invest. Liang Weidong (Secretary of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Dongguan People's Congress), stated in his speech, that despite of the complex and ever-changing external environment, Dongguan is still confident and determined to develop into an advanced manufacturing hub. While balancing epidemic prevention with city development, Dongguan will strive to accelerate the accumulation of technology, talents, capital and land in advanced manufacturing to spur its high-tech development.
A series of efforts will be made to attract projects to the city, such as strengthening the support system for innovative talents and industrial talents, creating a more business friendly environment by further deepening reforms in key areas. Liang hoped that more world class companies, especially advanced manufacturing companies, would choose Dongguan as their base. "Dongguan government will do its best to provide you with the most efficient and high-quality services, and work with you to achieve win-win development (for both the city and company)." He added.
During the investment campaign event, Xiao Yafei (Deputy Secretary of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee and Mayor of Dongguan) endorsed Dongguan to the guests by concentrating on the new semiconductor industry, new material industry, life science and biotechnology industry, software and information technology services industry, as well as listed companies and enterprise headquarters that operate in Dongguan. He said that Dongguan aimed to continue to improve the modernization of industy supply chains and create industrial clusters with global influence and competitiveness.
"We will strive to develop Dongguan into the leading city in the GBA for advanced manufacturing companies. We will provide the best conditions, the most considerate service, and the best environment for entrepreneurs who invest in Dongguan," said Xiao.
At the conference, city leaders Yu Lijun, Wan Zhuopei and Luo Huanghao respectively unveiled special policies supporting strategic emerging industries base, the upgrading of characteristic and advantageous industries, plus the introduction and training of modern service industries. Zeng Fangqin (chairman of Guangdong Lingyi iTech Company) and Wu Fengli (chairman of Guangdong Topstar Technology Co., Ltd.) also shared their investment experience in Dongguan.
